From a Wellness Idea to a Funded Holistic Health Enterprise
The Starting Point
Ndipo Chilume joined the First Youth Programme with an entrepreneurial idea centred on health, wellness and self-care. Her vision was to develop a business that would help people take a more holistic approach to their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. That idea developed into Ndigra Raw Holistic Center, a wellness enterprise combining nutritious detox juices and nourishing foods with personalised spa and self-care treatments. Ndipo’s concept was informed by her belief that wellness should be preventative and integrated into everyday life rather than considered only when people become unwell.
The Support
Through the First Youth Programme, Ndipo received structured entrepreneurship training, mentorship and business-development support to help her move from an idea towards a viable enterprise. The programme helped her strengthen her business planning, develop greater clarity around her concept and prepare herself to pursue opportunities for business financing. An important milestone in that journey was successfully accessing Youth Development Fund (YDF) funding to support the development of Ndigra Raw. The achievement demonstrates the value of combining entrepreneurship development with practical support that helps young entrepreneurs position their businesses to access finance.
The Transformation
Today, Ndipo operates Ndigra Raw Holistic Center, offering a combination of detox juices, nourishing meals, personalised spa treatments and wellness services. Her business has also begun attracting wider public attention. Ndigra Raw was featured in the Sunday Standard, which profiled Ndipo and the business under the headline “Total Wellness. Ndigra Raw hybrid health brand hits market.” The feature describes Ndigra Raw as a hybrid wellness brand focused on helping people improve their wellbeing physically, mentally and emotionally. Ndipo’s ambition is now to grow the enterprise further, including securing a larger space that can accommodate the expanding range of services offered by Ndigra Raw.
What Her Story Demonstrates
Ndipo’s journey demonstrates what can happen when an entrepreneurial idea is combined with structured training, mentorship, perseverance and access to finance. What began as an idea has developed into an operating wellness enterprise, successfully accessed YDF funding and gained recognition in the media. More importantly, Ndipo is building a business around a clearly identified need: helping people make wellness and preventative self-care part of their everyday lives.
